POWERING THE COMMUNITY SINCE THE ’90s

Through many different names, we have been the Pioneer of Solar Energy Solutions in Malaysia, bringing light to remote communities since 1998.

We are building a world powered by affordable sources through nature’s greatest gift: the sun, wind and water. We specialise in energy saving, sustainable, renewable and future emerging technologies.

Over the years, our services and products have been used by airports, highways, factories, schools, hotels, homes, and government facilities & agencies, to name a few.

We’ve even gone to Germany, Indonesia and Fiji (where Paul got a sunburn!)

ABOUT
THE FOUNDER

“ To constantly be a part of the wave of change and innovation, by creating new technologies that enable free energy for all and passing on my experience to the next generation, while enjoying my work to the fullest.”

Paul David Millott

Experimental R&D Director

A man who believes that technology should work for the people and not against them, Paul started his career as a humble Electronics Engineer in 1970 before inventing technology that would go on to save lives and illuminate communities.

Opening his own private clinic in 1978, Paul developed the Cytobrush Cervical smear technique and created the UK’s first photo processing mobile Mammography Unit, which helped women detect disease at an early stage. In addition, designed and built his own multipurpose X-ray machines and trained engineers on how to build and repair them.

Following his wife, a Malaysian, back to her home in 1992, Paul fell in love with local culture, food, and music. He also saw the potential for solar technology to solve last-mile connectivity issues within the country by providing the energy that was critically needed by remote communities living off-the-grid, and thus, Solar Voltaic (now PLUTO 4) was born.

By inventing smart solar products that are non-AC reliant and were not on the market, Paul was able to harness the power of the Sun efficiently by the nature of his constant thinking and tinkering. Aside from pioneering the field and assisting the Malaysian government, Paul has also done work for Germany, UK, Indonesia, and Fiji authorities, in addition to local NGO’s and individuals looking for alternative energy solutions for private and public infrastructures including houses, roads, police stations, schools, airports and more.

Actively involved in major research and consultation with several private companies, the Malaysian Army, and Navy, working on New Satellite Power Systems for New Malaysian Satellite Programme; a member of MENSA and author of many academic articles for industry-related publications, and one hell of a drummer, Paul is a man who’s thinking is not just out-of-the-box, but out-of-this-world.

PROJECTS AT GLANCE

Creator and Scientific Consultant of the “Science Fun Fiesta 1996” for the Ministry of Science to raise public awareness.

  • Organised the very first Science Fun Fiesta at the Shah Alam Nature Park in 1993
  • Part of the steering committee with the Malaysian government to create the world’s largest Fun Science show in 1996 where science was experienced through interactive exhibits. The event took place in November that year under the direction of the Ministry of Science.
  • As part of the event, convection and buoyancy were demonstrated by the use of a real Hot Air Balloon which took visitors for a ride whilst explaining what is holding them up in the air.

Scientific Consultants to Angsara Builders

  • Designed and advised on a Mobile Planetarium and designed and built the exhibits contained within it.
  • This vehicle was made of lightweight composite panels using Paul Millott’s own technology and is the only example of this technology in Malaysia.
  • Designed the Sunway Pyramid 3-storey-high Lion, the majority of Sega City and parts of the Sunway Lagoon area.

Scientific Consultants to Lumi-communications

  • Develop a unique method of creating pictures which can change with no moving parts. These signs have already been adopted in many public areas.
  • Advised on methods to facilitate such movement without the use of normal systems.
  • Movement is created by liquid crystal and ultraviolet light creating a paint that glows like a lamp when current is passed through it. This means that there is no need for light boxes as the picture or sign can now light up by itself without the light box.

Scientific Consultants to Digital Creations

  • On-hand Advisor to assist with procedures and techniques in a company specialising in laser equipment and use and providing large demonstrations of interactive exhibits for promotional use.

Consultants to the Penang National Museum

  • Designed and advised on methods of information presentation and construction of the exhibits for a new museum being built in Penang.
